What visitors wrote afterward
These notes name a service and a concrete habit. They are letters we were allowed to shorten, with first name and initial, and a town.
I booked the desk because my recovery phrase lived in a notes app. Jae-won never asked to see the words. She had me describe the two rooms in my apartment where paper could sit, and I wrote them down. I still wish someone had warned me about the walk from the Seosang stop. Twelve minutes is accurate, and it felt longer with a bag.
The allowance evening was the first time I heard, in a room rather than a chat, that a standing permission can be used later. We stayed inside one booklet. The drawings showed a desktop screen and I use a phone, so I had to translate the pictures myself on the bus home. The next morning I opened the allowance list in my own wallet and removed two entries I could not explain.
The phrase booklet is short. I renewed the card because my sister borrows the confirmation sheet from me on Sundays, and the slip lets me do that without hiding a library book from the counter. Returning both copies on the printed date is the annoying part, and it is also why I actually finish them.
Three days and a counter sheet
Mina wrote to the room on a Monday, which is the day the reading room stays shut. She had received a dinner-time message about an airdrop and had a browser tab she no longer trusted. The reply came Tuesday morning: the next desk hour was Wednesday. She was irritated about the wait, and she said so in the email. That irritation is now part of how she tells the story.
On Wednesday she and Min read the folded confirmation sheet. They compared the address she usually types with the one in the tab. One character differed. She closed it. The practice sheet she wrote that hour lives under the counter at the market, beside the till, because Monday's closure taught her she might need the lines when the room is dark.
She has not taken a shelf card. She says the single sheet is the part she uses, and the booklets would only get onion skins on them. The room kept her booking note and none of the message.
Reserve a desk if a message has left you with a tab you no longer trust.
